Lyons, New York,

Green Score 160; 16 Point double split brow tines; 200#'s field dressed.

As told by landowner and hunting partner Don Federico:

The hunter is Scott Guyor from Chelsea, Michigan and it was his first time ever hunting New York.

I recently purchased the property in Lyons, NY. The previous owner owned it for hunting but did not hunt but a few times over the past several years. I hunted hard during bow season. I saw this buck while hunting does but I could not shoot because I had already shot a nice 8 pointer and did not have another buck tag. All I could do was take a picture with my cell phone and watch him walk away. He stood within 20 yards for at least 5 minutes.

Then gun season came along. I invited some friends to hunt and set them up in what I thought were my premo stands. We harvested a nice 8 pointer on opening morning from a beautiful stand overlooking a creek which borders a very thick bedding area. The next morning I put another buddy in that stand because I knew there must still be bucks in the area. Sure enough, at 9AM my friend blew the grunt tube and out walked a "nervous looking doe" with this big boy on her tail. 20 yards away stoped mr.. big and the single shot 12gauge was true. He only went about 50 yards and he was recovered quickly after that.
