Chris Fabian, 2008 Spring Gobbler, Schenectady, New York
May 21, 2008. 21 lbs, 9" beard, 1.25" spurs

This was my first turkey hunt both without my dad and using a mouth call, and as far as I was concerned it was just another good excuse to get into the woods at sunrise. Quickly though, my calls were being answered by a tom not too far away in a field. After about 40 minutes of 'talking' to his tom, I could make out his shape in full-strut, working his way along the edge of the field right towards me. He caught a glimpse of the decoy as he got to about 40 yards and fully committed, and presented me with about a 25 yard shot. My dad, whom I have always hunted with previously, was hunting in Buffalo with a friend and I think its safe to say I won our friendly bet on getting the bigger bird.

Thats a beautiful bird Chris. I love the color of its head and if that is not a paint brush then I don't know what is. Congrats on an absolute dandy. Now you got another pic for your EH page that you just built last night :)
