Fabuloso Fabian

Mitchell DeHond, Spring Gobbler, Churchville, New York
May 24, 2008, 24 lb., 9.25 inch beard, and 1 inch spurs.

Well this kid is on fire! Mitch-tagged out, Dad-00. Not that we are competing. 12 years old, 4th hunt 3rd shot second bird. He just won't believe me when I try and tell him Turkey Hunting, any hunting is not easy. We set up in one location only to hear gobbles in the distance. I picked a new location and set Mitch and his cousin Jory up in a new spot closer to where we could hear the gobbling on the roost. We got set up, I made acouple of yelps on a mouth call and bam we had this big boy on his way. He got a little quieter when he flew down, but on my second series of calls he was right there coming fast! Jory, if he goes left, he's yours. Mitch he goes right you take him. Now this is only about 6:05 and Lonely Tom makes a right turn, fans out and struts right into a load of #5's from Mitch's 20 gauge double.

It so unfortunate that he has to wait 4 more years to hunt deer. He could be scary!

Another proud moment for Dad!
