Submit a photo and story about your 2008 spring gobbler and you will automatically be entered to win a $100.00
gift certificate to the Sporting Goods Store of your choice. We don't care what store as long as we can
purchase the certificate online.
There is no registration for this contest. It is open to anyone who hunts spring gobblers in New York. To enter the contest
you must:
- Kill a Spring Gobbler, of course, during the New York Youth Turkey Season (April 26th & 27th)
or the regular turkey season in New York (May 1 - May 31)
- Submit pictures of your gobbler to Empire Hunting. Please see the following picture requirements:
- One picture must be of the bird fanned out with you in the picture
- One picture must be of the spurs
- One picture must be of the beard
- At least one photo must show the yellow tag attached to the bird and filled out. Remember this when taking
photos of the spurs.
- Tell us the length of spurs and beard
- Include the story of the hunt and make sure you tell us the date and general location the bird was taken.
* You can send up to 5 photos of your bird so if you want to submit a picture of each spur or take a couple extra than
feel free.
* Contestants should provide as much information as they can about their bird. It will help if your pictures include a cloth tape
that clearly shows the beard and spur length. Weight is not required but you can tell us if you like.
Remember, the more information you provide, the better your chances.
* The deadline for submitting a bird is Midnight, June 3rd.
* All birds submitted will be voted on by chosen members of the Empire Hunting community. We will select at least 20 people
to vote. This ensures that the voting is fair. We cannot leave this open to the entire community as there would be too many
ways to skew the results. Voting will begin on June 4, 2008 to ensure that all the successful late bird hunters have time
to submit their birds.
* Empire Hunting reserves the right to reject any entry for any reason we see fit.
* There is no pre-defined criteria for voting. Those chosen to vote do so at will and based on their opinion as to what
makes a nice gobbler.
Have a Safe Spring 2008 Turkey Season and Good Luck!
