On August 22nd, the DEC will be offering the Leashed Tracking Dog Handler Exam. By passing the exam, you can
legally track wounded big game with a dog. A location for the exam has not been given. We assume you can
take it at any DEC office but we are not sure on that.
You can the information that you need here
http://www.dec.ny.gov/press/45236.html
Many people are unaware that it is illegal to track wounded game in New York State with a dog. Your intentions
might be good but unless you are licensed to do so then it is illegal. Last we knew, you lose your license for
five years if you get caught.
PLEASE DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPITALS. It is annoying. Thank you!
