Brian Brown's "4 Mile" Buck

Empire Bucks Club Member: Gregg Taylor
Bethel, Sullivan County, NY
Saturday, November 01, 2008

8 pointer. Jaw bone aged at 3.5 years old, 195lbs live weight.

Gregg Taylor's Sullivan County 8-point buck
I was in the stand from 5:30 am and shot the buck at 35 yards at 5:10pm on Saturday November 1st. I had ranged the lane 20 minutes prior when a doe group passed through on the same trail. I mouth blatted at the buck to stop him for the shot. The deer went a total of 40 yards before dropping.

I had arrowed an almost twin to this buck the previous year on the 10th of November from the same stand. I had missed a bigger one the evening before (Halloween), and saw an absolute slob the day after the harvest when I was out trying for a doe. Good thing rifle season is just around the corner.
