* Deer hunting hours are sunrise to sunset
* Suffolk County allows Bow/Muzzleloader Either Sex or Bow/Muzzleloader Anterless tags
to be used during their special firearms season. An archery or muzzleloader license
will get you the Bow/Muzzleloader Either Sex tag but you must buy both the Archery
and Muzzleloader licenses to get the Bow/Muzzleloader Anterless tag.
* All deer taken must be reported to the DEC within 48 hours of harvest.

* A Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) containment area exists in Madison
and Oneida Counties. Hunters must follow special regulations
imposed to fight against the spread of CWD.

* The deadline for purchasing DMP (Deer Management Permits) for the upcoming
New York Deer Season is October 1.
* Beginning November 1, any left over DMPs will be available on a first come, first
serve basis but you have to get them at licensing outlets -
