Mike Sweet 130 Class 8 Point

I got this guy the last hour of the last day of bow season. I just got
out of work on Friday Nov. 16 at 2:30 had my gear in the truck and
thought I would try a new spot and hope for the best. Two weeks prior to
this day I let my friend Brian Ameigh hunt my stand where he shot a very
nice 8 point.
Well as luck would have it I sat in his stand the last
day. Not really expecting to see a whole lot I saw a doe come through
with a nice 8 behind it, they went high up the hill followed by another
doe. Thinking that was going to be the highlight of my night, man was I
wrong! about 15 mins. after they left I heard some crashing and antlers
clashing.
I pulled out my Primos bleat can and used it, thinking that
either way one of them one was on the trail of a hot doe. They were
fighting like hell and when I used my can they split up and the bigger
one came my way.
The buck I harvested came within 10 yards of my stand
and I got a good look at him and I realized that I had to take him. It
was a perfect shot, he went down within 20 yards. I knew when I hit him
that he was a good buck but when I got up to him I realized that he was
bigger than I thought. This is the nicest buck that I have taken with my
bow.
The buck is estimated to score 130.
As Mike stated, he hunts a lot with Brian Ameigh.
Here is a running log of animals Mike and Brian harvested in 2007 from the same treestand Mike shot the buck above from.
Mike and Brian will be guiding for the 2008 hunting season. We get to go first!

Great Job Mike,
I still remember the first deer you bagged with your bow in the hills across from the house. I was so proud of you then as I am of you now. Keep up the good work.
Love ya Mom,
