The "PegLeg" Buck
Despite the heat, this buck was tending a doe and would not leave her side. Was an awesome encounter. I watched him for about 45 minutes before I was lucky enough to get a shot.
30 yard shot from my stand, deer only went about 20 yards.
The buck was aged at 6 1/2 years old and dressed at about 180 lbs! Monster head on him. 16 scoreable points, will rough score in the 140's.
He is the older brother to last years buck "Jimmy Buffett". Its amazing to see the resemblance in both of their racks. Their father had to be an absolute monster. I shot him out of the same stand I shot Jimmy Buffett from........weird........almost a year apart. Luck.....
I watched this buck all summer, the best encounter was on 9/11 when he had just shed his velvet, it was literally hanging off his rack on that misty cool morning, what a sight to see, in fact that was the last time I saw him until Thursday.

Corey, Great Job with this buck. You truly deserve this and every single one of your deer that you get. No one works harder than you do.
Little wonder why you are becoming one of the best deer hunters in the Southern Tier. You are turning heads at such a young age!
Keep up the great work. Best of luck with your deer hunt in Texas in January.

I came across your story through my Dad. I don't even know you, but the Story of Tyler (that you wrote) was amazing! It's nice to see that there are still some caring people out there in this world.
Congrat's on the Buck. Though the real story is about you and Tyler. As I read the previous posts, I see how special you are!

Corbo, Thanks for including me within your hunting pursuits and more importanly in your life. I keep looking at the picture of "my" deer on the wall! I can't wait to see the mount. My doctors think I'll be able to come home soon, hopefully, they will let me hunt. I'm going hunting with you regardless of what they say.
Thanks for all that you have done for me. My nurse Shelia thinks we need to find another hobby, I told her no. I think Shelia likes you. Ok, I have to get to therapy, call me later. Good luck on the opener. Remeber to watch Rudy and go Irish! Leave RibCage for me, your not good enough anyways to get him, only me.
Corey, thank you again for all that you have done for me.

Corey, Great Buck! Just read your story in the New York Outdoor News. Awesome story about you and Tyler. Tears came to my eyes as I read the story.
You have a heart the size of Texas. Class and intergrity fit you.
I am lucky to have you as a friend. Awesome Job Corey. You have proved so much and have given the sport of hunting such meaning. Your care for Tyler and nature is amazing.
Love ya!

Great Job on your buck! I heard you got a big one in Pennsylvania last week as well. Awesome.
Little wonder why the rest of us all summer are at parties, etc, and your in the woods. Now I see the method to your madness.
Best of luck, although I am seeing luck has nothing to do with it.

Your work ethic with Whitetails is impressive! I can't figure out how you do it, but that is what seperates you from the rest.
Great Job Corey, you earned it!!

Corbo, That deer (as a matter of fact all your deer) make everyone in my Dad's deer camp so jealous!! You make the sport look easy, but I guess that's what "pros" do, they make the impossible look easy.
When I got your text that you got Tyler's buck, I couldn't contain my joy, thank you for including me in that day and the harvest! You have no idea how happy I was for the both of you. You put so much aside this year, all the time, all your vacation time, etc. to get that buck for Tyler.
Your more than one person's HERO! I can only think of what buck you will get next year. Luck has nothing to do with your success, you earn it!

Hey Bud, What a great deer! When I think of how hard you for each of your deer, I literally am amazed. Your season never stops, but I see why.
Tyler is truly blessed to have a friend like you! I know when I talk with you about him, you glow. The name "Little Man" is so fitting.
Corey, great job. Your love and committment hardly cease with hunting!! You are the best!

It's been awesome to see how you've turned your love for deer hunting into a year long obsession. You're always trying to learn more about them and better yourself as a hunter. It's amazing to me that you can identify EVERY whitetail pro by face and tell all the facts about each of them and the deer they've killed! You've become a relentless student of the sport of whitetail hunting. It's great to see you rewarded again with a terrific trophy of a buck. And after hearing the story of you and Tyler, it says a lot about the kind of person you are! I'm glad to call you my hunting buddy and proud to be able to call you my friend. Congrats!

Of course I knew it was you. This year my Dad heard of this big deer shot in Ellicottville, before he even finished, I said, so how big was Corey's Buck this year?
Great job Core! Last year I realized that your bond with the whitetail is beyond admirable, this year I realized how special you are with your bond and love for Tyler for devoting so much time with him.
Miss ya.

Hey, Awesome Buck! When I read your story about Tyler and the deer, I literally got teared up.
Your hardwork and committment to hunting is something everyone looks up to, hunters and even non-hunters. You are so humble and respectful to all of nature. As I hear your name in various circles, everyone always closes with accolades about you.
You make me smile each and everytime I see a deer!
I'm still here.......

What can I say?? No word can express my feelings for you. Tyler has not been able to stop talking about "his" deer. Corey, to see him smile makes me light up inside.
Tyler has a picture of both Jimmy Buffett and PegLeg on his wall. He calls it "Tyler and Coreys Wall of Fame".
Tyler is again on Cloud 9! Thank you so much Corey for devoting so much time for him. Your calls, e-mails and visits mean the world to him. We can't thank you enough.
Love,
Karen and Tyler aka "Little Man"
