The New York Outdoor News has posted the following news items to their Website for February 04, 2010.
 

* We would like to personally thank Steve Piatt, Editor, NY Outdoor News, for his contributions to hunting in New York.  Steve and his staff get the in-depth stuff before anyone us does.  They truly stay ahead of the curve.  If you hunt in New York State then you really should make the minor investment and subscribe the New York Outdoor News and support their organization and hunting in New York at the same time.  For a mere $22 per year you get a new paper every two weeks!

I think the DEC is trying to look busy so they can stay funded. "Well we need funding because we have to come up with more regulations." No you dont. Its tough/costly enough in this state without coming up with or changing moe laws. We spend enough time here in NY adhering to maddening regulations outside of the woods, working to pay all of the taxes, etc. Just let us hunt!

And the last thing they should do is open a muzzleloading season before the archery season in the Southern Zone. Us archers like hunting deer that havent been spooked by gunshots; and the amount of people who muzzleload (myself included) would certainly take away from the quality of the archery season.

And the survey says? Enough of the rhetoric already and tell us the truth about the state of deer hunting in NY. Admit that the the way deer management is conducted in NY does not work!

As a far as LaPierre, he is correct that hunters can make their voices heard at the ballot box. As far as gun control in NYS is concerned, he is oblivious to the problem that hand guns pose.Perhaps he should move back to NY.
